In addition, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office provides all basic equipment, including uniforms, body armor, weapons, web gear, and a take-home vehicle within policy guidelines.
Vacation and Holiday Leave
County employees earn ten paid holidays per year. The vacation for shift employees will be taken on the first of each month or the 16th of each month. Vacation time earned is based upon years of service with the County.
Sick leave is earned at the rate of one day per month. You may accumulate a maximum of 132 days of sick leave. Supervisors routinely assess employee sick leave usage.
If you are a member of the National Guard or a military reserve unit, you are permitted up to 18 days paid military leave per year.
