Request Accident Report
After any car accident, you’ll want to get a copy of your police report, also known as an incident report or crash report. This is a formal document law enforcement officers file after responding to the crash, in which they give document details they observed at the scene (to include witnesses statements and description of what happened).
There are two ways to get your accident report: Pick it up from the Sheriff's Office, 400 Walton Way, during regular business hours; or order it online. As a service to our community, the Richmond County Sheriff's office provides online access to Richmond County accident reports through a paid service provided by BuyCrash.com.
Accident reports are generally available within three to five days after the accident, but can take longer depending on the complexity of the report. The fee for ordering a report from BuyCrash.com is $11. Copies picked up at the sheriff's office are 10 cents per page.
