The deputies of the Field Operations Division are the public face of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. These dedicated men and women put their lives on the line on a daily basis to protect and serve the residents of Richmond County. The Field Operations Division of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office is comprised of two precincts - the North and the South. Each of the precincts is commanded by a precinct Captain. The precincts have four patrol shifts each, plus the various Special Operations Units housed within that precinct. The uniformed patrol shifts operate on two, 12-hour shifts. These shifts are commanded by two Lieutenants.
