On Saturday 062814 at 1515 hours, Deputies Thomas Langford, Kevin Chambers, Jonathan Gross and Corporal William Hensley responded to 310 Barbara Road in reference to a burglary in progress. All deputies arrived at the scene within a minute or two of receiving the call and upon their arrival they noticed a male subject sticking his head out of an open window on the side of the house. The deputies set up a perimeter around the residence and were able to take two suspects who were inside into custody. Witnesses stated the two suspects had been dropped off at that location by a white male driving a silver Chevrolet Impala and that the vehicle had passed by the house while the suspects were inside and prior to deputies’ arrival. The vehicle was located a short time later by Sergeant Darrell Grooms parked at the corner of Peach Orchard Road and Bungalow Road, occupied by a third suspect. All three were arrested and charged with Burglary in the 1st Degree. Two were adults and were committed to the county jail; the third was a juvenile who was turned over to his mother.  Because of the quick response by all deputies involved, three burglary suspects were apprehended.  All three subjects are suspects in numerous other burglaries in the county.

Deputy George Edenfield

On 070914 Deputy David Edenfield was on patrol and was passing by the Station House located at 2419 Peach Orchard Road when he observed a newer model white Ford F-150 truck exit the parking lot of the store at the same time the burglar alarm was activated. Deputy Edenfield was able to get behind the truck while calling for the zone car to check the business. Deputy Edenfield initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Deans Bridge Road just north of Gordon Highway in front of McDonald’s. Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputy Edenfield located several cartons of assorted cigarette brands and ceiling tiles in the bed of the truck in addition to a plastic box containing rolled coins and undisclosed amount of cash. Unit 5301 Deputy Juanita Williams on the scene at the store and confirmed that entry had been made. At that time Deputy Edenfield was able to take the only occupant of the truck into custody. Deputy Williams along with management of the business were able to review security footage and positively identify the suspect Deputy Edenfield had in custody.

On 062014 at 0031 hours, Deputy Chadrick Scott was dispatched to 2121 Vandivere Road Apartment 9A in reference to a Home Invasion / Armed Robbery that had just occurred. The description of suspects was given when the call was dispatched, along with a description of two weapons that were used during the incident. While in route Deputy Scott observed the subjects running on the 2200 block of Walden Drive that met the description. Deputy Scott attempted to stop the subjects at which time the subjects fled on foot on the 1700 block of Wycliff Street. Deputy Scott, Deputy Mike Woodard, and Corporal George Meyers began a search of the area on foot and located the two subjects hiding under the carport at 1761 Wycliff Street. After locating the subjects and getting positive identification it was confirmed that these two subjects were involved in the home invasion along with another subject. Deputy Scott learned that the suspects lived at 17 Whitney Court. Corporal Meyers went to Whitney Court in an attempt to locate the third suspect and upon his arrival he observed a suspect walking up the driveway. Corporal Meyers was able to detain the suspect and transport him back to Deputy Scott’s location. The suspect was positively identified. During the investigation one of the weapons was recovered under a bush in the yard of 1761 Wycliff Street near where the subjects were located. The second weapon was located in the shoe of the third suspect.
